The police in Anambra State have appealed to politicians to ensure peace and tolerance during their political campaigns in the state for the November 6, 2021 election.

The Commissioner of Police, Mr. Tony Olofu, made the appeal on Wednesday, while assuring that the Police were committed to working with other patriotic stakeholders toward ensuring public order in the state before, during and after political rallies.

A statement issued by the police spokesman in the state, Ikenga Tochukwu, a Deputy Superintendent of Police, assured that Olofu being the head of internal security in the state would always be on ground to coordinate the security deployment and ensure that rallies were hitch-free.

He also called on members of the public to coordinate themselves and cooperate with the security agents in the course of discharging their constitutional duty.
