What set Mr. Valentine Ozigbo, the governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Anambra State, apart from other contestants is his prudence in the management of funds.

The Vice Presidential candidate of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in the 2019 elections, Mr. Peter Obi, disclosed this on Arise Television, ahead of the November 6, 2021 Anambra gubernatorial election.

He said that for a leader to be successful in office, he must be prudent in the management of the resources available to him and also accountable to the people.

Obi also clarified that educational qualifications, though important, were not the only requirement for leadership.

“Anambra needs a leader that can solve the problems facing the state, not a lecturer that can speak the best of English. Inasmuch as I believe in education and will always invest in it, we must understand that it is not a measure of integrity, good character or good behaviour, and these are highly needed ingredients for exemplary leadership”, Obi said.

Besides, the Anambra State former governor regretted that the present APGA government has for the past seven and half years, sacrificed the development of the state on the altar of financial mismanagement, imprudence and political irresponsibility.

“Before we left office, the state was not only debt-free but we had a surplus of N75 billion saved up for the state. We did not owe any supplier or contractor. We cleared all accumulated pensions and gratuities and did not owe any worker their salary. The about N120 billion debt this government has plunged the state in can only be attributed to financial rascality, a culture that must not be allowed to continue in the state”, Obi said.

He however urged Ndi Anambra to come out en masse on Saturday, November 6, and vote for Valentine Ozigbo of the People’s Democratic Party, whom he said, has the right combination of intelligence, good character and discipline to save Anambra from further wreckage.
