Voting begins in Anambra governorship election

By Valentine Amanze

The Anambra State governorship election is now a reality as voting has commenced in almost all the polling units with the presence of heavy security.

The exercise, which was planned to commence by 8:00am on Saturday November 6, 2021, however, began around 10:00am because of late arrival of voting materials in many areas of the state.

Besides, the INEC officials waited for the arrival of adequate security personnel before they could start work.

At Ugah and Nnewi, our correspondent witnessed people coming out to cast their votes though not in large numbers. Other areas visited include Unit 10, Amawbia 1, Community Primary School in Awka.

Some 18 political parties are on the ballot as the race to takeover from the current Governor, Willie Obiano of All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA).
