Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) has advised clerics and Christians, who are politicians, to shun corruption, greed and other vices that run contrary to the teachings of Jesus Christ.
Niger State Chairman of CAN, Rev. Matthias Echioda, gave the advice at the maiden edition of “Life and Leadership Conference,” which held place at Aloevera Hotel, Minna over the weekend.
He also appealed to clerics and other church leaders to live up to the responsibilities of preaching the word of God to change the Nigerian society especially by ensuring that their charisma blends with the words of their mouth and character.
He said that days were gone when politics was viewed as a ‘dirty game’, urging Christian politicians to be examplary in adhering to the rules of the game, and avoid cutting corners at the detriment of their image and religion.
