Lawmaker, Bazuwa, boosts education of 30 physically challenged in Potiskum


Yobe lawmaker, Bazuwa, says he will continue to assist his people on education.

A member of Yobe State House of Assembly, representing Potiskum Central constituency, Hon. Abdullahi Adamu Bazuwa, has donated N300,000 to 30 People Living with Disability (PLWD) to facilitate their education. Each received N10,000.

Mr. Ahmed Haruna Daya, the legislative assistant to the lawmaker, disclosed this after the brief ceremony in Potiskum Town at the weekend.

He said that the measure was to ensure that every child irrespective of health status received quality education, stressing that physically challenged children must not be discriminated against.

He said, “Promoting inclusion means stimulating discussion, encouraging positive attitudes and improving educational and social frameworks to cope with new demands in education structures and governance. It involves improving inputs, processes and environments to foster learning both at the level of the learner in his/her learning environment and at the system level to support the entire learning experience as contained in UNESCO”.

He also disclosed that the lawmaker further donated N300,000 for the construction of a Mosque in Arikime, Dogo Nini Ward in Potiskum town.

“Bazuwa again donated N100,000 to the Almajiri’s learning at Tsangayar Malam as demanded.

“Also, he has donated N100,000 for the repair  of electricity transformer in Rose Line Near Government Secondary School, Potiskum.

“He also embarked on the electrification  of an abandoned  completed water borehole that is lacking source of power lines, rehabilitation of boreholes at Garin Kariya, Unguwar Jaji Primary School, Gabar da Gidan Major Kambiya, T-junction Layin Abdu Bodori.”
