Governor’s wife appeals to eligible Nigerians to go for the second jab of the vaccine

Niger State governor’s wife, Dr. Amina Abubakar Sani Bello, has warned Nigerians to be more cautious  about the coronavirus (COVID-19), which has claimed millions of lives globally because of its evolving nature.

She gave the advice at the Chanchaga Primary Health Care (PHC) Centre, Minna metropolis, while flagging off the Phase II of the COVID-19 vaccination and routine immunisation against killer diseases for children in Chanchaga and Bosso local government areas of the state.

She also appealed to all eligible Nigerians to go for the second jab of the vaccine and be ready for the third one to serve as a booster if the need arises.

The governor’s wife said that it was important for Nigerians to adhere strictly to protocols to avoid deaths.

While advising stakeholders to mobilize all eligible family members and communities to go for vaccination for protection, Amina Sani Bello said that the COVID-19 vaccination was free and did not have side effects as being insinuated.

She assured that the state government would continue to conduct high impact health programmes for the benefits of especiallaay women and children, adding that medical experts would before the end of the week carryout vitamin A supplementation for children aged 6 months to 59 months, deworming of children as well as provide ante-natal care for nursing mothers.
