Members of the Islamic Movement of Nigeria (IMN) in Potiskum, Yobe State, have commended the judiciary over the release of their leader, Sheikh Ibrahim El-Zakzaky, and his wife, Zeenatuddeen.

Alhaji Garba Ahlil Bayti, one of the strong supporters of Sheikh Zakzaky, said on Thursday that he was gratitude to God for His intervention and see freedom of their leader and his wife.

“We are all happy today and appreciate the role the media, lawyers and human rights organization played in ensuring the release of our beloved Malam. We run short of words in thanking them for their commitment to humanity,” he said.

Ahlil Bayti also commended their followers for the sacrifice and patience.

His words: “We commend our esteemed followers for the sacrifice, contributions, prayers, patience and love in pursuing the release of our leader today. We are law-abiding and peaceful citizens as we are armless always.

“These are the good legacies Malam El-Zakzaky taught us to be good ambassadors of peace and unity in our lives”.

The IMN member however appealed to those in authority to always fear God in the discharge of their responsibilities, stressing, “today’s judge displayed humility. Imagine, the judge that freed Zakzaky is a Christian. This is the highest sense of truthfulness and justice; we are very thankful for the fairness”.

He restated their continued support and loyalty to their leader and prayed Allah to grant those that lost their lives paradise.

“What a coincidence. Malam was discharged today! It’s a memorable day for all of us. We have been jubiliating”.
