Taskforce recues 500 cows from bandits

The Joint Taskforce set up by the Niger State government to fight insecurity has neutralized some bandits and intercepted 500 cattle from the fleeing criminals at Kuchi and Galadima-kogo at Alawa and Erena communities in Shiroro and Munya Local government areas of the state.

The taskforce also recorded few casualties in the process, while the state government has promised to take care of families of the security personnel who paid the supreme prize with their.

The Commissioner of Local Government, Chieftaincy Affairs and Internal Security, Mr. Umar Emmanuel, disclosed this, while briefing journalists on the government’s current efforts in ending insecurity in the state.

The commissioner said that the rescuing of the cows by the Joint Taskforce was sequel to an onslaught that resulted to the neutralizing of many armed bandits terrorizing rural communities.

“Though not without supreme prize,” Umar said, “some security operatives lost their lives in Shiroro and Munya; but the state government will take care of their dependants for sacrifices made towards protecting territorial integrity of Nigeria.”
