No fewer than two persons lost their lives in an auto crash Monday morning along Ikwo road in Ezza South Local Government Area of Ebonyi State.

Eyewitness told Nigeria News Flight that a motorcyclist, which was conveying three passengers, lost control, before colliding with a Toyota Highlander Jeep.

The deadly collusion, the source said, led to the death of two people, while others sustained injuries.

It was also gathered that the Highlander Jeep was on a high speed when the incident occurred.

“I regret to announce a fatal accident involving my brother, friend and fellow progressive, Barr. Ekigbo Sampson Nnamdi, and an Okada man carrying three passengers.

“Barr. Ekigbo is unscathed, he is okay but two out of the other four others died at the spot, while two others are at the point of death as I type this.

“This is a very sad time for us. My regret is that the accident was a preventable one. Oh! It’s unfortunate.” the source said.

Already, the victims who sustained injuries had been taken to hospital for treatment  while the dead bodies were deposited in mortuary.

The police and the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) are yet to comment on the accident at press time.
