Bianca Ojukwu, Ebele Obiano welcome Soludo govt with fight

The physical combat between Ebele, the wife of the Anambra State former governor, Chief Willie Obiano; and Bianca Ojukwu, the widow of the late Igbo leader, Dim Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu, during the swearing ceremony of Governor Charles Soludo marred the event in Awka on Thursday March 17, 2022.

Many dignatories including the first son of the late Igbo leader, Dim Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu, Emeka Jr, have lambasted the two prominent Igbo women for the disgrace before visitors.

Emeka, first, took a swipe on his father’s widow, Amb Bianca Ojikwu, and later Ebele Obiano, describing their fight as disgraceful to Ndigbo.

Emeka in a statement described the action of Bianca as an insult on the name, image and integrity of his father, Ojukwu, adding that it was a display of disrespect for her late husband.

He said that Bianca had no need to engage in a fight because the challenge thrown to her by Ebele Obiano was avoidable and did not call for any form of response let alone a fight.

Emeka also pointed out that the actions of the former first lady [Ebele] was unbecoming of a true Igbo woman, noting that he was not taking sides with any of them, stressing that it was a wrong period to make such a display of hooliganism by the two.

He however congratulated Governor Charles Soludo over his inauguration as governor of Anambra State, advising him not to be distracted by the in-house political and personal interest by some party members.

“I understand the sentiments and I cannot stop anyone from taking sides, but did Zik’s wife, Awo’s wife, Tafala Balewa’s wife, etc, etc, ever fight in public?

“This is a shame to Eze Igbo and to Ndigbo. No matter our justifiable issues with either camp or both camps even, let’s remember that we are Ndigbo, a proud people and for us, what is wrong is wrong. Period. This is a shameful display by all concerned. Nothing more,” he said.
