St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Ire-Akari, Isolo, Lagos on Sunday April 10, 2022, joined other Christian churches worldwide to mark this year’s Palm Sunday, with a procession round the church environment.

The procession, with songs and praises, was to herald the Easter celebration next Sunday.

During the Holy Mass before the blessing of palm fronts in the church, the parish priest, Rev Fr. Philip Egbuniwe, advised church members to always uphold Christian values by keeping away from sin.

He warned parishioners to desist from wearing seductive clothes to church, reminding them that the worship centre was the house of God.

Besides, he advised beggers to keep away from the church, stressing that their activities were negatively affecting the church.

Fr. Egbuniwe however advised the genuine beggers to report officially to the church, where they would be appropriately given attention.
