2023: Ebonyi SSG Ugbala, quits, joins race declares for Senate

The Secretary to Ebonyi State Government and Coordinating Commissioner, Dr. Kenneth Ugbala, has resigned his appointment to vye for Senatorial position on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Ugbala made declaration to contest and represent the people of Ebonyi Central Senatorial zone at the National Assembly in Abakaliki, the Ebonyi State capital, on Thursday.
Before his resignation , Ugbala had interest to contest for governorship election but stepdown for another candidate from the zone.
While declaring, he said, “I’m here to consult with the State Working Committee of our party and seek their approval and support to run for Senate, come 2022/2023 for Ebonyi Central Senatorial District. You know political party is a platform through which you can come into leadership. And before any step is taken, it’s necessary to consult with the party leadership and seek their approval. That’s why I’m here.”
Before his appointment as SSG, Ugbala had served as Senior Special Assistant, SSA, as well as Commissioner for Border Peace and Conflict Resolution under Governor David Umahi administration, before his elevation as Secretary to State Government.
