I’m impressed with Umahi’s achievements in Ebonyi –Buhari

President Muhammadu Buhari of Nigeria has expressed satisfaction with the infrastructural development of Governor David Umahi of Ebonyi State.

The president also commended Governor Umahi for what he described as hia zero-tolerance to corruption, while promising to handover the newly built King David University of Medical Seciences to Federal Government.

The president made the promise during his visit to Ebonyi State on Thursday May 5, 2022

Buhari said that Umahi has made Ebonyi proud, with his development strides, while appreciating the governor for naming the International Airport and light turnel after him.

“I have decided to accept the offer of your government to takeover the King David University of Medical Sciences and the process is on hand and will be concluded soon.

“I appreciate the honour of naming the state International Airport and the magnificent light turnel after me. I hope this facilities and many more will further  strengthen economic development in Ebonyi and in particular the Nigeria nation at large.

“I have noted the significant projects you executed in the last seven years, you have made your people proud.

“I am pleased by the economic development records of the state under your administration. The wonderful network of roads, critical infrastructure and investment opportunities that you have created in the state. I have noted progress in the economic performance  index of the state, particularly the report emmanating from SFTAF commendable  records about your budgeting principles.

“I commend the state for emerging the second overall best in the fiscal performance index in Nigeria and for scoring high in fiscal discipline, transparency and accountability in the use of public resources. It shows zero-tolerance for corruption and waste of public fund.”
