Ebonyi  Assembly screens, confirms five  commissioner-designates, DC cordinators

Ebonyi State House of Assembly has screened and confirmed five commissioner-designates and Development Centre (DC) cordinators in line with the house rules and provisions of the constitution.

This was contained in a letter from Governor David Umahi to the speaker of Ebonyi State House of Assembly, Hon. Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru, requesting the house to screen and confirm five commissioner designates and seven cordinators of Development Centres to  enable him inaugurate them to fill the vacant political positions in his government.

Among the Commissioner Designates are Mrs. Beatrice Eze, Hon. Mathias Adum Adum, Celestine Nwokpuru Nwali, Romanus Nwasum and Chris Uchaji, while the seven cordinators of development centres were also screened and confirmed.

Reading out the letter in the house under Matters of Public Importance, the speaker of Ebonyi State House of Assembly, Hon. Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru, stated that the governor forwarded the names of the appointees to the house for possible screening and confirmation and therefore mandated the nominees to take a bow and go having fulfilled all the requirements as prescribed by the law.

“Dear speaker, approval of the following names as appointment as Commissioners.May I seek the consent of this honourable house as enshrined in the constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria 1999 as amended to appoint and approved the following names for appointment as a Commissioner in Ebonyi State Government.Namely; Mrs.Betrice Eze, Hon. Mathias Adum, Hon. Celestin Nwokpuru Nwali, Romanus Nwasum and Chris Uchaji, while the norminees for development centre cordinators are: Justice Ogbonnaya, Apostle Peter Uduma, Sunday Agwu, Denis Ogbu, Chukwudi Pascal Obia, Oliver Mbam, Agbo Euchalia.

Earlier, the nominees were mandated to submit their curriculum vitae, photocopies of their relevant credentials and tax clearance certificates, with evidence of payments of their property taxes, in 31 file copies, to the office of the Clerk of the House not later than 9am, Thursday,  May 12, 2022.
