The Niger State governor, Alhaji Abubakar Sani Bello, has called for peace and true reconciliation among members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) members in the state.

He made the appeal when when the party’s gubanatorial candidate, Umar Mohammed Bago, and his entourage visited members of the state Executive Council at the Government House, Minna after the weekly council meeting on Wednesday.

In a statement issued by his Chief Press Secretary, Mary Noel-Berje, the governor, who was represented by his Deputy, Ahmed Mohammed Ketso, said that reconciling all aggrieved members of the party after the primary election was key to winning the 2023 general election in the state.

He expressed optimism that the reconciliation effort would be successful.

Besides, the APC gubernatorial candidate, who is also the federal lawmaker representing Chanchaga Federal Contituency, Hon. Bago, had explained that his visit was to reconcile with aggrieved members of the party and  officially unveil his running mate to the council members.

The gubanatorial candidate however commended Governor Abubakar Sani Bello for providing a level playing ground for the primary election.

He appealed to all members of the party to put the issue of the primary elections behind them and forge ahead in unity to achieve success in the 2023 election.

Bago also acknowledged that Council members were critical stakeholders, hence the need to identify with them, assuring that he would continue with reconciliation move until the desired result was achieved.

He presented his running mate, Comrade Yakubu Garba, to the council members.
