‘We never said that Edoziem has become the acting Leader of IPOB’

The Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) has said that the detained Mazi Nnamdi Kanu remained the group’s leader.
This is contrary to the media report that IPOB had gotten a new leader.
IPOB Publicity Secretary, Emma Powerful, on Tuesday insisted that Kanu remained the bonafide leader of the pro-Biafra movement.
He urged the group’s numerous admirers to ignore the purported change of leadership, stressing that it was the handwork of the enermies of IPOB.
“We the global movement and family of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) under the command and leadership of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu condemn the useless and fabricated media propaganda and blackmail from some media houses that IPOB has another or acting leader replacing our indefatigable liberator and prophet Mazi Nnamdi Kanu.
“Those peddling the lies are criminals, who want to confuse the weak-minded people,” he said.
He however explained: “Mazi Chika Edoziem is the head of IPOB Directorate of State (DOS) and not IPOB Acting Leader”, stressing that the organization never issued any statement that its leader had been replaced by Mazi Chika Edoziem as IPOB acting Leader.
“It is unfortunate that some mischievous elements twisted an unambiguous statement by IPOB where we clarified that in the meantime that our leader is in detention, the Head of DOS, Mazi Edoziem will be providing direction on the day-to-day activities of IPOB.
“We never said that Edoziem has become the acting Leader of IPOB,” he said.
