- A combined team of police and Directorate of State Security (DSS) officials has arrested the Eze Ndigbo of Ajao Estate in Lagos State, Fredrick Nwajagu, in the early hours of Saturday, April 1, 2023 over comments about the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB).
Linda Ikeji reported that the Igbo chieftain was arrested after a viral video showed him threatening to invite IPOB to Lagos to secure the properties of Ndigbo.
But Lagos State government official, MC Oluomo, and his group, who molested non-Lagos indigenes during the 2023 general election are moving freely in he state.
Nwajagu’s only offence, sources said was that he was an Igbo man captured in a video condemning the destruction of Igbo property and business in Lagos.

In a video that went viral on Friday, March 31, Nwajagu threatened to invite members of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) to Lagos State over protection of their lives and property being wasted by sponsored touts in the state.
His words: “IPOB, we will invite them. They have no job. All of the IPOB will protect all of our shops. And we have to pay them. We have to mobilize for that. We have to do that.
“We must have our own security so that they will stop attacking us at midnight, in the morning, and in the afternoon.
“When they discover that we have our own security, before they come, they will know that we have our own men there.
“I am not saying a single word to be hidden. I am not hiding my words; let my words go viral.
“Igbo must get their rights and get standing in Lagos State.”
Subsequently, the police and DSS went after Nwajagu in a midnight raid but he had already fled his palace. He was later traced to a hotel in Ejigbo where he was arrested.
As at press time no one knows the station he is being detained and the offence tabled against him.
While Police command is yet to confirm the arrest, a source at Ejigbo police station said that the Igbo chieftain was not in their station.
Meanwhile, family members are worried about his whereabout and his safety, while calling on Ndigbo and the Lagos State government to ensure safety of Nwajagu.
