Govt imposes curfew in three Ebonyi communities

The Chairman of Ohaozara Local Government Area of Ebonyi State, Hon. Chinonso Ajah, has imposed a dusk-to-dawn curfew in three communities following the high-level insecurity, which claimed many lives and properties in the council.

The communities affected are  Okposi, Uburu, and Ngwulangwu.

The council chairman announced on Thursday June 8, 2023 that all human and vehicular movements had been restricted in the affected communities throughout the period of the curview, which starts from 6:00pm of  June 8, 2023, till further notice.

His words: “All forms of movements including activities of motorcyclists and commercial tricycle operators within the areas have been outlawed.

“The people are advised to adhere to this directive to avoid further threat to peace in the council area.’’

Recall that there has been series of attacks in Ohaozara LGA during and after the election where a ward councilor was killed during the election while three cars were burnt few days ago by unidentified gunmen.
