‘The police is all about the people. Always ensure that you protect them. Be objective and do what is right’

The Assistant Inspector -General of Police (AIG), Mr. Echeng Eworo, has urged officers and men of the force to shun bribery and corruption, stressing that anyone caught would face the full wait of the law.
He also advisd them to discharge their duties effectively and efficiently to ensure a free-crime society since security of lives and properties were their priority.
Eworo, in charge of Zone 9, Umuahia, gave the advice on Tuesday during his visit to Ebonyi Police Command, Abakaliki.
The AIG also advised them to maintain peace and unity wherever they found themselves for the growth and development of this country.

His words: “I urge you to continue to fight the good fight and ensure that you take the fight to the people at various communities.
“Do not shy away from your responsibilities. Always stand for the right thing for effective protection of the people.”
The AIG however described police as leading “agency” in protection of lives and property, urging them to embrace professionalism in the job.
“The police is all about the people. Always ensure that you protect them. Be objective and do what is right.
“Remember that all the units in the command were set up for a reason in crime fighting processes,” the AIG advised.
