.Security men deny Igbo leader, journalists entry into the inauguration

Niger State government is set to float gas operating vehicles for inter and intra-city services to cushion the effect of fuel subsidy removal on the citizens.
Governor Mohammed Umar Bago, who disclosed this at the swearing-in of new commissioners and special advisers at the Idris Legbo Kutigi International Conference Centre, Minna on Monday, also assured that the transport fares would be pocket-friendly.
Besides, he
pleaded with Nigerlites to be patient with the state government over the current socio-economic hardship, stressing that efforts were on by his administration to provide palliatives to mitigate their sufferings.
Governor Bago also challenged the newly sworn-in members of the State Executive Council (SEC) to maintain close links with their constituencies as measures to ensure that the dividends of democracy reaches out to all.

Responding on behalf of the Commissioners and Special Advisers, the Commissioner of Lands and Survey, Maurice Bello Magaji, assured the governor that they would not disappoint him.
Meanwhile, the Igbo community leader in Niger State, Eze Pampas Ngozi Wahiwe, his cabinet members and some journalists were among the guests locked out of the Idris Legbo Kutigi conference centre, venue for the swearing-in of commissioners and special advisers despite coming in time (before 10am).
The security operatives, who claimed that they were acting on the ‘‘order from above,’’ said the affected people did not have the ‘‘admittance card.’’
