. Calls on South Easterners to support Tinubu

Nigeria’s Minister of Works and Ebonyi State immediate past governor, Mr. Dave Umahi, has appealed to the acclaimed winner of the February 25, 2023 presidential election, Mr. Peter Obi of the Labour Party (LP), not to appeal the election tribunal judgement, which robbed him of his mandate.
Umahi, who said that the emergence of Bola Ahmed Tinubu as president was divine, called on the people of South East to support him for the overall development of the zone.
He described Obi as the Biblical John the Baptist, who made the way for the emergence of the messiah, Tinubu.
Umahi, who wept after Tinubu defeated him during the All Progressives Congress (APC) primary, said that God revealed to him during the election campaign that Tinubu would be the next president of Nigeria.
He also expressed satisfaction that the governor of Ebonyi State, Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru, believed in that direction.

His words: “If you look at my script throughout the campaign, I was saying that God told me that president Tinubu is going to be the next president of Nigeria. I am happy that your governor believed in God’s direction; all of us believed that president Tinubu is going to be our president.
“And like I said it in Imo State that God has a purpose for everybody, Peter Obi has served the purpose of John the Baptist for the divine president, Bola Ahmed Tinubu. That is all God wants him to do this time around.
“So, I advice him not to go to any court of appeal. I am not a lawyer, but my son is a lawyer. He has interpreted the judgement and has left no hope for any appeal. These judges are spirits, they went into everything and dissected everything.
“Let all South Eastern people come together to support president Tinubu. He made us number one minister. We voted more than other regions, why? Through the coming of the John the Baptist, we were able to bring down PDP and gave victory to APC.”
