Police Command has set up investigating team to clamp down on the perpetrators of the heinous crime

The Police have confirmed the brutal murder of two policemen, a civilian and a monarch in Mbaise, Imo State by gunmen on Monday November 27, 2023.
The killings happened in two separate incidents.
The yet to be identified gunmen struck in the morning at the ever-busy Ahiara Junction in Ahiazu Mbaise Local Government Area, killing two cops on duty, and a passer-by near a petrol filling station at the junction, while people ran for safety.
Also, the mutilated body of the monarch of Otulu Amumara community, Ezinihitte Mbaise Local Government Area, Eze Joe Ochiulor, was found in Mbutu, Aboh Mbaise council on Monday November 27, 2023.
The monarch was kidnapped by gunmen on Saturday November 25, 2023.

The spokesman of the Police Command in Imo State, Henry Okoye, who confirmed the incidents, said that the Commissioner of Police Imo State Command, Aboki Danjuma; Commander 34 Artillery Brigade, and Joint Task Force (JTF) operatives have embarked on a combing exercise of the scene of the crimes for evidence that could lead to the arrest of the hoodlums responsible for the attack.
Though no group had claimed responsibility for the killings, Okoye, stated that the state Commissioner of Police, Danjuma Aboki, has condemned the unfortunate incidents.
According to him, the commissioner vowed that the command would ensure that the perpetrators of the heinous crimes were arrested and made to face the full wrath of the law.
The police commissioner, he stated, has subsequently set up investigating team to clamp down on the perpetrators of the heinous crime, while calling on the public to remain calm and cooperate with the police by providing useful information that could assist in the apprehension of the suspects.
Recall that the monarch of Umuamadi Nguru in Aboh Mbaise was shot dead in his palace and People Democratic Party (PDP) leader in Ezinitte Mbaise was also murdered recently by the yet to be identified killers.
Meanwhile, high insecurity is raising tensions in Imo State, while Governor Hope Uzodimma appears helpless.
