The Commerce and Industry Correspondents Association of Nigeria (CICAN) has commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for appointing Dr Muda Yusuf into the board of Nigeria Custom Service (NCS).
CICAN National President, Mr Charles Okonji, made the commendation in a statement issued in Lagos on Thursday November 30, 2023.
He said that Yusuf’s appointment was well deserved considering the huge contribution of the economist to the nation’s economy.
Okonji, who described Tinubu as “a talent hunter” pointed out that Yusuf is one of the country’s foremost economists, who had been consistent in proffering solutions to the nation’s comatose economy.
His words: “Yusuf, from his days at the Lagos Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI) as the body’s director general, to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Centre of the Private Practice Enterprise (CPPE), has shown that he understands the issues with the country’s economy and solutions to most of the problems.
“Over the years CICAN has engaged Dr Yusuf and realised that the economist knows his onion. We hope that the economist will bring his wealth of experience to bear in the board of NCS.”

Besides, he advised Yusuf to bring his vast of knowledge to bear in his new appointment to justify the confidence the president has in him.
He reminded Yusuf that the NCS doesn’t enjoy the confidence of many Nigerian businesses and the people due to the activities of some corrupt officials, urging him to reverse the trend.
