The Chairperson, Police Officers’ Wives Association (POWA), Niger State chapter, Mrs Rosina Shawulu Danmamman, has commended police women in the state for working hard by engaging in businesses to lessen their husbands’ financial burden.
Danmamman made the commendation in Minna during her maiden familiarization visit/ advocacy for the empowerment of members, including widows to officers, who died in active service.
Danmamman also hailed the women for turning out in large number for the meeting.
She explained that the essence of the meeting was to have one-on-one interaction with wives of police officers in the state with a view to encouraging them not to be idle but engage in business or work to support their husbands.
She reminded them that POWA, as an association, was formed to improve members’ living conditions, improve their welfare, that of their children and support their husbands “who are always on duty and hardly stay home for their children.”

“POWA is meant to help members especially in supporting their husbands to succeed in the line of duty by ensuring they have peace of mind to concentrate at work. Therefore, I urge you to strive to keep the home front peaceful for less stress on your husbands,” she said.
She also assured the women that she was working with her husband, the state Police Commissioner, to raise funds for Christmas package for them and also organise Christmas party for children of police officers.
Recall that the activities of Police Officers’ Wives Association in Niger State had remained inactive for many years due to lack of motivation and focus by wives of Police Commissioners until the deployment of Mr. Shawulu Ebenezer Danmamman to the state.
