Ebonyi governor presents N2002b budget to state assembly

The governor pledged to ensure proper implementation of the budget to add more values in the economy and lives of Ebonyians

Ebonyi State Governor Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru has presented a total of N2002 billion to Ebonyi State House of Assembly for 2024 fiscal year.

Presenting the work document titled, “Budget of Innovation and Progress” at the Ebonyi State House of Assembly, Nwifuru disclosed that the budget was carefully prepared in line with the “People’s Charter of Needs” manifesto that aims at bringing growth and development in all parts of the state.

He also pledged to ensure proper implementation of the budget to add more values in the economy and lives of Ebonyians.

Governor Nwifuru also pointed out that a total of 8.8 billion contract had been awarded for the supply of drugs and other medical equipment to the state general hospitals.

The governor said that 512kms of roads would be constructed in different parts of the state as captured in the 2024 budget.

His words: “As we speak, a contract of N8.81 billion already awarded for the supply of drugs, consumables, and equipment  in the general hospitals so that you don’t have any need to come to town or even Abuja in search of medical attention.”

Governor Nwifuru further disclosed that his administration would open up rural communities through aggressive road construction next year, stressing, “Out of the 512kms of roads earmarked for construction, a total of 310kms would be completed within the cycle of the 2024 budget.”
