Ani wins Ebonyi South Senatorial bye-election

Ani defeated his opponents in all the five local government areas of the Ebonyi South Senatorial District – Afikpo, Edda, Ivo, Ohaozara and Onicha

Professor Anthony Okorie Ani, the candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has won the Ebonyi South Senatorial bye-election.

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) announced Ani  winner after polling a total of  46,270 votes.

It also stated that his closest rival, Chief Ify Eleje of All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), secured 3,513 votes, leaving a margin of 42, 757 votes.

Ani, according to INEC record, defeated his opponents in all the five local government areas of the Ebonyi South Senatorial District – Afikpo, Edda, Ivo, Ohaozara and Onicha.

Meanwhile, the Chairman of Afikpo Local Government Area, Uchenna Nnajiofor Ibiam, has congratulated the senator-elect for Ebonyi South Senatorial District, Professor Anthony Okorie Ani, over his victory in Saturday’s Senatorial Bye-Election.
