‘During the course of the Nigerian civil war we [Nigerians] bombed and starved to death three million of them in the space of three years including one million of their children’

The All Progressives Congress (APC) chieftain and former minister facing corruption charges, Mr. Femi Fani-Kayode, has descended heavily on Ndigbo, accusing them of openly applauding the State of Israel’s alleged genocide against the women and children of Gaza, Palestine.
Fani-Kayode, who expressed his disdain for Ndigbo in his X handle, @realFFK, also described them as one of the most civilised, charming, accommodating, hard-working and enterprising ethnic nationalities in Africa.
The Aviation former minister however pointed out that Ndigbo had suffered so much humiliation over the years in Nigeria, while wondering why they must support the ongoing killings in Gaza.

His words: “During the course of the Nigerian civil war we [Nigerians] bombed and starved to death three million of them in the space of three years including one million of their children.
“This was not only a war crime but was also barbaric and unacceptable and on many occasions I have called for an apology to the Igbo people by Nigeria for this heinous act of barbarity and genocide.
“It is an irony of fate that the overwhelming majority of the very same Igbo people who were slaughtered in their millions between 1967 and 1970 and who were subjected to the worst form of ethnic cleansing that Africa has ever seen are now openly applauding the State of Israel for committing genocide against the women and children of Gaza.”
Fani-Kayode, who neither mentioned any Igbo group nor person in his indictment, stressed that “Ndigbo are NOT Jews, they are NOT Zionists and the people of Nigeria and indeed West Africa have NO historical, racial or ethnic connection with the Jewish state.”
He also accused them of failing to appreciate that during the Nigerian civil war Israel sold arms to Nigeria, and that not all Gazans are Muslims.
Besides, Fani-Kayode appealed to God to open the eyes of Ndigbo and guide them to join the rest of the world in condemning the Zionists of Israel and opposing the wickedness and evil that they are subjecting the innocent women and children of Gaza to.
