Ebonyi journalist passes away, NUJ mourns

The Ebonyi State chapter of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) has announced the death of its member, Dr Simon Ezika, who died in a motor accident along Abakaliki-Afikpo Expressway on Sunday April 28, 2024.

 The NUJ Chairman, Ebonyi State chapter, Mr. Samson Nwafor, made the announcement in a statement issued in Abakaliki on Monday.

Nwafor said that Ezaka, a broadcaster, was a staff of Ebonyi Broadcasting Corporation (EBBC) before he left for a teaching job as a senior lecturer at the Department of Mass Communication, Ebonyi State University, Abakaliki, before he died.

He further disclosed that the late Ezika was also a unionist, who made invaluable contributions to the growth and development of the media Industry in Ebonyi State and beyond, while praying God to give the bereaved family members the fortitude to bear the lose.
