‘Any arrest or charges against Obi must be met with a resistance as never seen in the history of Nigeria before, and the Obidients are ready for it’

A popular civil rights activist and Performing Muscians Association of Nigeria (PMAN) former president, Mr. Charles Oputa aka Charly Boy, has raised alarm that the President Bola Tinubu-led federal government was planning to arrest Mr. Peter Obi, the Labour Party (LP) presidential flagbearer in the 2023 general election for criticising the government.
Charly Boy also warned that any attempt by the government to arrest Obi would be resisted.
He made the revelation in his X handle, @AreaFada1, on Thursday May 2, 2024.
Charly Boy also advised Tinubu’s government to be careful not to set the nation on fire with an illegal arrest of Peter Obi.

His words: “There’s a report of an attempt of arrest on Peter Obi, by Tinubu’s Government over Peter Obi’s consistent refusal to back down on calling Tinubu out towards good governance and accountability.
“Any arrest or charges against Obi must be met with a resistance as never seen in the history of Nigeria before, and the Obidients are ready for it.
“Tinubu’s government must trend with caution not to set this nation on fire with an illegal arrest of HE Peter Obi. We call on Tinubu’s government to desist from her evil plans against Peter Obi because Nigeria will not remain the same.”
Corroborating, God’sWillAlone4Naija, @RITAENG1234, said that he was surprised the development, stressing that it would be unwise for the federal government to arrest Obi for criticising bad governance.

“Una Thief Our Mandate. And then the ONLY Human being that’s giving Us Joy and Hope, una wan go arrest am?
“Please make it Fast abeg!!!,” he said.
Recall that Works Minister, Mr. Dave Umahi, recently accused Obi of inciting the Igbo against Tinubu just because Obi, like other Nigerians, were questioning the rationale behind the consruction of the multi-trillion dollar coastal road by the government without due process and in the midst of the ravaging hunger.
