Niger State Governor, Mohammed Umaru Bago, has expressed the state’s preparedness to seek for the approval of the Federal Government through the Ministry of Works to reconstruct the dilapidated Lapai-Gulu-Muye federal road which has become death trap for motorists.
The governor disclosed this during the ceremony for the construction of township roads in Lapai, Lapai Local Government Area.
Bago said that the administration was desirous for the speedy transformation by seeking the support of the Federal Inland Revenue Services (FIRS) and the NNPC through tax credit scheme for the road project in addition to the ones already granted recently.

Bago further disclosed that the state government was planning to renovate Lapai General Hospital as well as revive the water works project from Katcha, Agaie and Lapai, a project that was initiated by the late former Governor of the state, Abdulkadir Abdullahi Kure.
Governor Bago, who was also in Agaie to launch township roads, also promised to construct other roads in the local government, including one leading to Baro in-land port.
Governor Bago however assured the people that Agaie General Hospital would be renovated and equipped for improved healthcare service delivery while the central market would soon get facelift.
In their separate remarks, Lapai Local Government Chairman, Alhaji Mohammed Musa Kirikpo and his Agaie Local Government counterpart, Alhaji Ibrahim Sayuti Aliyu, expressed their appreciation to Governor Bago for extending infrastructural development to the rural areas.
