‘The ongoing construction of the coastal highway is moving smoothly without any problem’

Nigeria’s Minister of Works, Mr.David Umahi, has said that Federal Government was not owing owners of the demolished properties situated along the coastal road.
Though Umahi did not disclose how much the government paid them and when, he said that the compensation was made through the Ministry of Works.
Umahi made the disclosure, while addressing journalists in Abakaliki, the Ebonyi State capital, on Wednesday.
The Ebonyi State immediate past governor also debunked the allegation that the coastal highway had been obstructed by MTN cables and other hitches, stressing that the rumour was baseless and unfounded.
“The ongoing construction of the coastal highway is moving smoothly without any problem,” he said.
On the Landmark properties along the coastal highway, Umahi said that they were not affected by the road construction.

Besides, Umahi enjoined Nigerians to support the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Tinubu to sumount the challenges, stressing that the economic hardship did not start under Tinubu’s administration; but was inherited from the past administration.
Umahi however appealed to Nigerians to embrace unity, peace and progress since the present administration had good policies and programmes to alleviate poverty and ensure healthy living in Nigeria.
