The Ebonyi State House of Assembly has suspended the screening of a Development Centres (DC) Management Committee member nominee for Oshiri DC, Mr. Chikwado Ikoro, for failure to explain his public accusation against their monthly and quarterly wages.
They said that until he cleared himself of the allegation against them that his nomination would not be confirmed by them.
The event took place at the Assembly Legislative Complex, Nkaliki Road, Abakaliki, during a plenary that screened and confirmed Governor Francis Nwifuru’s norminees for appointment as Management Committee Members of the 64 Development Centres in the State on Thursday.
The plenary started with commendation of Governor Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru and relevant ministries and agencies by the Speaker, Chief Moses Ije Odunwa.
Ruling on the norminee’s failure to defend himself, Chief Odunwa setup a three-man committee to examine the matter in less than 24 hours and present to the House the true finding.

Earlier in a motion, the member representing Ezza North West, Chikodiri Nomeh, seconded by his Ivo counterpart, Onyebuchi Ogbadu, said that public accusation by Chikwado Ikoro was capable of disintegrating the unity members enjoy with constituents, hence, the need to establish his source of information before his screening and possible confirmation which was unanimously supported by the House.
In his remark, the Leader of the House, Chief Kingsley Ikoro, congratulated the norminees for making the list and explained that it was their proven track record, invaluable contributions and commitment in the affairs of the state and party that engendered their nomination and expressed optimism that their coming on board would go along way to the positive functionality of the DCs.
The plenary was later adjourned to another legislative date by the Speaker through a motion moved by the Chief Whip, Prince Nkemka Okoro-Onuma, seconded Hon Aloysius Nwodo representing Ebonyi North West State Constituency.
