Obi: Free and fair election is all Nigeria needs to correct the errors facing Nigeria as a nation

Labour Party (LP) presidential candidate in the 2023 general election, Mr. Peter Obi, has said that the former President Godluck Jonathan’s sacrifice kept Nigeria united.

Obi said that no other leader in Nigeria has beaten Jonathan’s record of fostering peace and unity in the nation.

Obi made the commendation at the 2024 Democracy Day Dialogue organized by the Goodluck Jonathan Foundation in Benin City, Edo State, on Thursday June 13, 2024.

At the event, which discussed issues undermining functional education in Africa, Obi said that education remained the most fundamental ingredient needed to keep Nigeria on the path of development.

He said that a credible election could only be actualized through quality education, stressing, “Free and fair election is all Nigeria needs to correct the errors facing Nigeria as a nation.”

In his contribution, Jonathan called on Nigerian leaders to put in their best in improving educational system for the benefit of African children.

 Also, Nigeria’s Minister of Education, Mamman Tahir, in his message, commended Governor Godswin Obaseki of Edo State for working hard in making Edo an accelerator state for education reforms.
