The early morning rainfall in Lagos on Wednesday July 3, 2024 has destroyed properties worth millions of naira.
The rain, which began around 4am, lasted for more than seven hours and crippled businesses as most roads were flooded.
The worst hit were flood-prone areas like Oworonsoki, Ago Isolo, Oshodi, Surulere, Satallite Town, and Lekki/ Ajaa axis.
Residents were seen packing water out of their houses at Canal View Estate near Jakande Estate in Isolo Lagos around 12 noon.

With the downpour, workers in the nation’s commercial capital struggled to reach their workplaces.
The Iyana-Oworo, Olopo Meji areas leading to the 3rd Mainland Bridge were completely flooded, causing heavy traffic that extended to Alapere.
Meanwhile, NEMA has predicted that the rain would continue till Friday.
