The third day of the ongoing national protest against bad governance and poverty turned bloody at the MKO Abiola Stadium, Abuja, as police and the DSS fired gun and tear gas on the protesters on the “orders from above” to ensure their forcful exit from the facility.
The demonstrators, who had converged on the facility as early as 8:00am on Friday to press on with their demands, were treated like criminals by the security as they were singing solidarity songs in the field.
Though the number of casualty is awaited, the protesters, many of who were still on their way to the stadium, were taken onawares by the law enforcent agents, as they had the permission to use the stadium.

A court order had restrained the #EndBadGovernance demonstrators from using other areas.
On Friday, tear gas canisters were also fired at the protesters when they gathered in the Berger roundabout area of the FCT.
But the rallies are continuing – although there is a reduction in the number of demonstrators – in other parts of the country. Lagos, Benin City in Edo State, Sapele, Warri in Delta State, and Port Harcourt in Rivers State are also witnessing protests.
