Protesters now wave Russian flag
Nigeria’s President Bola Tinubu has postponed this week’s Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting to an undisclosed date, and will instead meet with service chiefs.
The postponement came on the heels of the continued nationwide protest aginst bad governance despite Tinubu’s Sunday August 4, 2024 nationwide broadcast on the issue.
The meeting is expected to have in attendance the vice president, the national security adviser, all service chiefs, the inspector general of police, the comptroller generals of customs, and immigration, and the chief of staff to the president.
Channels Television reports that the urgent meeting with security chiefs may not be unconnected to the ongoing nationwide hunger and hardship protests.

Also, it was gathered that Nigerians, mostly youths, are regrouping across the country for the sixth day of the #EndBadGovernanceInNigeria protests.
On Monday August 5, 2024, most of the protesting youths in Kano, Kaduna and Katsina, Lagos states, and Abuja were seen waving Russian flag.
President Tinubu had on Sunday called for dialogue and an immediate end to the nationwide protests that have rocked the nation since Thursday August 1, 2024.
Tinubu said that his administration was ready to address the issue, but that there was no going back on the petrol subsidy removal, thereby angering the protesters.
