Ebonyi govt gegotiates with TCN, approves payment for diversion of high-tension poles

Ebonyi State Governor Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru has approved the payment for diversion of high-tension poles affected by the dualization of Enugu-Abakaliki-Ogoja Trans-Sahara Express Way, after negotiation with Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN).

This part of efforts to ensure stable power supply in the state.

The Commissioner for Information and State Orientation, Engr Jude Chikadibia Okpor, stated this while briefing journalists on the outcome emergency EXCO meeting held at the new government house, Abakaliki.

The commissioner further stated that the Council however cautioned those misinforming the public without verifiable information about Afikpo light saga to desist from such to ensure peace continues to reign. or face the wrath of the law.

Okpor also explained that State Executive Council took time to analyse the social media ripples that emanated from the Afikpo Light Project as well as issues surrounding it, and after an intense and exhaustive deliberation, the Council resolved to inform the public that the job leading to the restoration of light in Afikpo, contrary to erroneous information being peddled in some sections of the media, had been satisfactorily completed, only awaiting connection to the National Grid after the completion of the Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) Power Sub-Station, Amasiri, from which the state government had assured would be completed before the end of the year.
