Ebonyi State Police Command has presented N29,592,826.14 million to the families of 10 slained police officers.
The Commissioner of Police in Ebonyi State, CP Garba Aliyu, said that the distribution of the N29.5 million Group Assurance Cheque was in compliance with the directive of the Inspector General of Police, IGP Usman Alkali Baba, to all CPs to personally present the Group Life Insurance benefits of diseased police officers.

“On behalf of the Nigeria Police Force, and in consonance /compliance with the directives of the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Usman Alkali Baba, psc(+), NPM, fdc, cfr, that all Command CPs should personally handle the presentation of the Group Life Insurance benefits of deceased Police Officers and men, I hereby present these cheques to the next-of-kins of our fallen heroes as follows; OKOROAFOR GRACE NNEKA N2,253,933.12

He further said that the recipients were family members (mostly spouses/next-of-kins) of Police men who were victims of gunshot injuries during attack by hoodlums e.g Armed Robbers, Kidnappers, ENDSARS protesters and terrorists.
Others were victims of vehicle accidents while on hot pursuit of criminals.
