Human rights activist and leader of African Action Congress (AAC), Mr. Omoyele Sowore, has hit hard on the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) for its non-chalant attitude to the Federal Government’s penchance of raising the petrol prices frequently to punish Nigerians.
Sowore, while urging the NLC to work for the masses, he recalled the sacrifices they made as students to resist the hiking of petrol prices by the federal government then.

Expressing his feeling on his X handle, @YeleSowore, on Thursday, Sowore recalled how NLC always failed the public when it mattered most.
His words: “In November 1993, we, as Nigerian students, resisted the increase of Petrol prices to about N3.25 kobo, and guess the people who betrayed us –the @NLCHeadquarters leadership, which included

.
“It is now 2024, and petrol prices have gone up to N1,300 and guess who the people still betraying you? #RevolutionNow”
Sowore also accused the Nigerian elders of contributing to the leadership crisis in Nigeria presently for not supporting the youths in politics.
He said, “Nigerian ‘Elders’ will create a mess and turn around to ask “youths” to clean up after them.
“When the “youths” show up to lead, they turn around and accuse the same “youths” of lacking experience (of course, using the same “youths” to make this absurdity argument).
