By Valentine Amanze
Standards Organisation of Nigeria (SON) has called for collaboration among professionals in public and private sectors to ensure excellence in Nigeria’s building and construction sub-sectors.
SON’s Director General, Dr. Ifeanyi Okeke, made the appeal ahead of the national conference on the building sector scheduled at the Nigerian Airforce Conference Center, Abuja on November 12, 2024.
The conference, titled, “Adherence to Standard Practices: Bedrock of Sustainable Development in the Building Sector,” would bring together leading stakeholders to reposition the building sector for safety, growth, and sustainability.
In a statement, Okeke urged professionals and stakeholders to actively participate, leveraging their expertise to address recurrent challenges.

“This initiative aims to stimulate economic growth and create job opportunities within the housing subsector,” according to the statement.
