The U.S. President Donald Trump has blamed the immediate past government for the plane and helicopter crash, which claimed many lives in the country on Thursday.
Trump, who stood before the White House press room cameras on Thursday, said that the country was in mourning, while sharing his condolences during “an hour of anguish.”
Trump also paid tribute to first responders and the victims, while promising that his regime would be different.
“It will be combative. It will be unscripted. And it will be quick to point the finger of blame.
“We do not know what led to this crash, but we have some very strong opinions and ideas,” he said.
He however speculated that lowered standards of hiring for air traffic controllers in the Federal Aviation Administration during the Joe Biden and Barack Obama presidencies may have been a factor in the disaster.

On how he could blame diversity programmes for the crash when the investigation had only just begun, the president responded: “Because I have common sense.”
He however acknowledged there was no confirmed cause, saying, “it’s all under investigation”.
Meanwhile, the U.S. former President Barack Obama has expressed sadness over the crash on Thursday.
Expressing his feeling on X handle, @BarackObama, the ex-president, on behalf of his fimily, sympatised with families of the victims of the air accident.
Obama stated:
“Our hearts break for the families who lost loved ones in the tragic plane and helicopter crash at DCA.
“Michelle and I send our prayers and condolences to everyone who is mourning today, and we’re grateful to the first responders, who are doing everything they can to help under extremely difficult circumstances.”
