ActionAid Nigeria in collaboration with Leadway Assurance has renovated and handedover Tarabutu Primary school, Bursari Local Government Area to the Yobe State government.
During the presentation, Hajiya Suwaiba Ibrahim, who represented ActionAid Nigeria, was expressed with the turn out of guests at the event.
She said that the State Universal Basic Education Board, Promoting Rights in Schools (PRS), was a participatory framework for citizen’s engagement in quality, inclusive public education, adding that ActionAid Nigeria’s Local Rights Programme (LRP) is determined to promote right in Yobe State schools and achieve Continuous Education for Primary pupils.
She explained that ActionAid Nigeria in partnership with Leadway Assurance renovated the dilapidated block of classroom, an office, and a store together with the provision of furniture to promote access to quality and inclusive public education for children in Tarabutu community.
“intended to provide them with a safe and conducive atmosphere for effective teaching and learning,” she said.
She further disclosed that ActionAid Nigeria was appreciated the generous donations, partnership, and collaboration with Leadway Assurance and enjoined individuals and corporate organizations to partner with ActionAid Nigeria in community sponsorship initiative.
On his part, the Executive Director of Yobe Peace and Community Development Initiative (YOPCODI), Abudulkadir Kura, said the goal of ActionAid Nigeria was to support education in Yobe State.
He appreciated the support of the other relevant stakeholders for the joint participation for the achievements of the purpose of the project which is to give back to the community a quality and sound education for out of children in Yobe State. Community Sponsorship is an ActionAid Nigeria initiative that allows individuals to make voluntary regular donations to support the extremely poor and vulnerable communities.
