A youth group, Sahelian Youth Forum for Good Governance and Advocacy (SYFGGA), has urged detractors of Governor Siminalayi Fubara of Rivers State, to allow him to provide dividends of democracy to his people.

The National President of SYFGGA, Comrade Aminu Harsanu Guyaba, made the appeal in a news conference on Thursday in Bauchi.

He said that it was disheartening that some unscrupulous elements were working behind the scenes to distract the governor from the good work he had been doing.

“These elements, having exhausted their own tenure, seek to continue exerting control over the state. This is not only undemocratic but also detrimental to the progress and stability of Rivers State.

“Upon all the distractions we commend Gov Fubara for his doggedness and resilience in the face of challenges.,” he said.

Guyaba pointed out that the Fubara  administration had been marked by numerous achievements that have positively impacted the lives of the citizens.

“From infrastructure development to healthcare improvements and economic empowerment, Governor Fubara’s dedication to serving the people of Rivers State is evident in every step he takes.

“We also appreciate Fubara for his recent bold and commendable decision to swear in local government caretaker committee chairmen.

“This decisive action was taken despite the attempts by former chairmen to cling to power even after exhausting their constitutional limits,” he said.

The Forum called on President Bola Tinubu to address the pressing issue with his experience and implications  of external control and a potential danger to a Governor.
