‘President Buhari may be ready to deal with Tinubu now, he has told his close aides and associates that he doesn’t see himself handing over to him on May 29’

Crisis is rocking the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) despite claiming victory in the February 25, 2023 presidential election in Nigeria.
The “cold war” ongoing between the Presidency and the president-elect, Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s camp took a different dimension today with the disclosure by the Sahara Reporter that President Muhammadu Buhari was bent on not handing over power to Tinubu on May 29, 2023.
Sahara Reporter reported on Friday that Buhari told his close associates that he did not see himself handing over to the president-elect, Bola Tinubu.
“President Buhari may be ready to deal with Tinubu now, he has told his close aides and associates that he doesn’t see himself handing over to him on May 29,” one of the sources old Sahara Reporter.

“He did not disclose why the thought so. Could it be that he is afraid of handing over power to him? We can’t say but his close associates are already aware of this.”
Already, a close associate of Tinubu, the Chief Justice of Nigeria CJN, Justice Olukayode Ariwoola, had been sited by CNN in London Airport disguised in a wheelchair on on his way to meeting Tinubu in London. His disguised mission on Friday (today) is likely to brief Tinubu, who is resting in London, about the Presidency’s stand on his successor.
Tinubu, the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate, was declared the winner of the presidential election by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) on March 1 even without meeting the criteria in the nation’s constitution of winning in the FCT Abuja.
According to INEC official results, the 70-year-old-plus, Tinubu, won in 12 of Nigeria’s 36 states, and secured a significant number of votes in several states to defeat main challengers – Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), and Peter Obi of the Labour Party (LP), who came second and third, respectively.
While Tinubu polled a total of 8,794,726 million votes, according to INEC official results, the 76-year-old former Vice President, who has now run for president six times, secured 6,984,520 votes, and Obi, who, in less than a year, galvanised young voters in a manner some have described as unprecedented, finished the race with 6,101,533.
Tinubu and President Buhari belong to the same party – APC.
Tinubu’s drug case in U.S. is also said to be working against him coupled with his certificates’ scandal.
Mainwhile, Nigerians have taken to twitter to react to Buhari’s alleged stand on handover.

Peter Obi will expose the hell out of Thiefnubu at the Courts that nobody would want to be publicly associated with a narcotics and heroine trafficker.”
Tinubu and Buhari’s relationship was a subject of speculation before the primary election of the APC in 2022 and also before February 25, 2023, presidential election.
