Teaching and training of undergraduate medical students will soon begin at the David Umahi Federal University Teaching Hospital, Uburu, Ebonyi State.
Already, efforts are ongoing for the pre-clinical accreditation from the Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria (MDCN).
MDCN is the professional health regulatory agency for the professions of Medicine, Dentistry and Alternative Medicine in Nigeria.
The Chief Medical Director of DUFUTH, Professor Uzoma Agwu, disclosed this during an interaction involving the hospital management and Provost of College of Medicine, David Umahi Federal University of Health Sciences, Professor Esther Ajuluchukwu.

Agwu said that DUFUTH, as a premier teaching hospital, was poised to leave a legacy of distinction and excellence as the college prepares to transition to clinical posting of students to the hospital.
She reiterated the need for the two institutions to collaborate for greater effectiveness, as they have shared goals and objectives.
Professor Agwu further pledged that the management would put all necessary structures in place to ensure that students were given a competitive medical education that would give them a solid edge over their peers.
