11 family members died enroute to Ebonyi for father’s burial

The last may not have been heard on the tanker explosion at Ugwu-Onyeama in Enugu State, which killed many people.
A family in Abofia-Agbaja in Ebonyi council of Ebonyi State, which lost 11 members in the incident, has appealed to government for financial assistance to bury the dead.
Mr. Nwaji Ikechukwu, the younger brother of a victim, Nwaji Jeremiah Uchechukwu, who died with all his family members, lamented the incident, while speaking to Nigeria News Flight in thefamily compound at Abofia-Agbaja in Ebonyi LGA.
He confirmed that his elder brother, wife, his six children, immediate younger brother, house maid, and servant; all perished in the incident.

Ikechukwu explained that his elder brother, Nwaji Jeremiah Uchechukwu, and his wife, Eucheria, other family members were coming from Anambra to Ebonyi to organize his father’s burial before the incident.
He urged government to stop heavy duty vehicles like tankers from operating in day time to avoid such calamity from reoccurring.
Other simpathizers and family members such as Ifeoma Oroke, Chiamaka Onyiba, among others expressed regret over the tragedy, as sympatisers trooped into the family.
