Southern Nigeria People’s Mandate (SNPM), a non-governmental organization, has appealed to the President Bola Tinubu-led administration to end hardship in Nigeria by reverting to the old petrol price of 2023.
Hardship struck Nigerians immediately President Tinubu announced the removel of oil subsidy on May 29, 2023 after being sworn –in as president.
In a statement issued by its President, Augustine Chukwudum, SNPM also described the increase in fuel price as genocide against hungry Nigerians.
The group said that it was regrettabe that Tinubu, whom it described as a democrat, would not work for the masses’ interest.

“Tinubu’s administration is worse than military government. We have been raising the alarm for the past six months; but Nigerians ignore us. Today things are worse; Tinubu remains admant as if he is ruling animals and not human beings,” SNPM stated.
SNPM also urged Tinubu to strengthen the nation’s currency (Naira) to force the prices of goods and services down, while calling for the sack of Melee Kyari, the NNPC managing director, whom it said, was sabbortaging the nation’s economy by working in concert with the oil mafia.
