Eze Ositadinma B. Nwokocha, confirmed the suspension of the festival in a statement issued on Thursday.

He assured that Amumara would also host the festival on January 1, 2025.

In a statement titled, “Clarification from Umura III of Adakam Amumara on the issue of suspension of Oji Ezinihitte Festival,” Eze Nwokocha regretted the inconviniences the suspension would cause the people.

His words: “I thought my initial message was very clear; but I have been informed that some people are asking for further clarification on what is meant by “Suspension of the Oji”.

“It means that the Oji Festival will not hold on 1st of January 2024. Since it is celebrated on the first day of the year, and by the decision of Ezinihitte  Mbaise Council of Traditional Rulers,  Amumara will host on 1st January 2025,

The inconveniences are highly regretted.”
