Gunmen kill 11 Plateau villagers in fresh attack

‘The resident said that the attackers retuned to the community at about 8:00am and began shooting. He said that there was yet to be any counter-attack from security operatives.’

 

No fewer than 11 villagers have been killed by gunmen in Maikatako community in Butura District of Bokkos Local Government Area, Plateau State, in the early hours of Wednesday, November 16, 2022.

DailyTrust reported that the gunmen stormed the community at about 1am and began shooting continuously and burning houses. Many people were also said to have been injured during the attack apart from those killed and the houses razed down.

“So far, about 11 persons are dead” a resident of the community said, adding that some were burnt beyond recognition.

 

The resident said that the attackers retuned to the community at about 8:00am and began shooting. He said that there was yet to be any counter-attack from security operatives.

The state police command is yet to comment on the development.
