Lawmaker commiserates with victims’ families

Tregedy struck in Ebonyi State on Tuesday 23, 2024, as no fewer than 20 women drowned after their boat capsized.
The Ozizza women from Afikpo North Local Government Area were returning from a business trip when the incident occurred at Itigidi in Cross River State.
The victims also lost goods worth millions of Naira in the river.
Commiserating with the bereaved families in Ozizza Afikpo North LGA of Ebonyi State, the member representing Afikpo North West Constituency in the national assembly, Mr. Kingsley Ogbonnia Ikoro, said that he received the heartbreaking news with sadness, lamenting that the women died when their contributions were needed most in the community.
Ikoro further said that it was unfortunate that this incident happened in a period of time when the country was passing through hard times.

He promised to get close to the affected families to ascertain how to assist them.
He enjoined the affected families to anchor their trust in God who is aware of their burden.
